RAF Marhem

617 Squadron "After me, the flood"

Known as the Dambusters, 617 Sqdn, probably one of the most famous  squadrons of World War II, lends its name and badge to the current Lockheed Martine F-35b Lightning II stationed at RAF Marhem.  The B Variant known as STOVL for Short Take Off Vertical Landing, is the current choice of the Royal Air Force.

Images also include a flight of Royal Navy Merlin Helicopters, who popped in for a refuel of aircraft and crew no doubt.
